Conferences
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Vancouver Island has two distinct geographic areas, north and south
island. The South Island conferences are centralized through the Social Concern office. The office assists the
conferences by accepting the requests for assistance and ensuring the members are supported in their roles
to assist our neighbours in need. The boundary for south island ends at the Malahat.
South Island
St. Andrew's Conference
St. Andrew's Conference is affiliated with St. Andrew's Cathedral located at 740 View Street, Victoria, B.C. This is
the first Conference of the Society on Vancouver Island. In 1914, Father Leterne began to organize the Society at
St. Andrew's Cathedral. One year later the Conference of St. Andrew's was formed. The conference was officially
aggregated on December 4th, 1916 by the International Council General in Paris, France.

Parish Centre on the 3rd Monday of each month in the evening.

St. Elizabeth's Conference
In 1945 the Saanich Peninsula Conference was established through the St. Elizabeth's Church located at 10030 3rd
Street, Sidney, BC. In 2001 the conference was renamed St. Elizabeth's of Hungary Conference. This conference was
aggregated 56 years after it began on January 15th, 2002 by the International Council General in Paris, France.
The conference currently meets in the St. Elizabeth's Parish Centre on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 1:30pm.

St.Joseph's the Worker Conference
This Conference is affiliated with St. Joseph's the Worker Parish located at 753 Burnside Road West, Victoria, B.C.
In 1964 the St. Joseph the Worker Conference was formed and later aggregated on September 14th, 1990 by the
International Council General in Paris, France.
The conference meets in the Parish Centre on the 3rd Monday of each month.

The Sacred Heart Conference was formed in 1967 and aggregated 11 year later on January 23rd, 1978 by the
International Council General in Paris, France. This conference is affiliated with Sacred Heart Parish located at 4040
Nelthorpe Avenue, Victoria, B.C.
The conference meets on the 1st Tuesday of every month in the Parish Centre.

Queen of Peace Conference
The Queen of Peace Conference was formed in 1968 through the Queen of Peace Parish located in Esquimalt at 851 Old
Esquimalt Road, Esquimalt, B.C. On September 11th, 2001, 33 years later, the Queen of Peace Conference was officially
aggregated by the International Council General in Paris, France. In recent years, membership decline has affected the
conference and it is currently in desperate need of members. The assistance to those people in need in Esquimalt is
currently being served by the St. Andrew’s Conference members.

The St. Peter's Conference was formed in 1997 and was originally named the Frederic Ozanam Conference. The
Conference changed its name to Nanaimo Frederic Ozanam Conference the same year and then to St. Peter’s
Conference in 1999. St. Peter’s Conference was aggregated on September 11th, 2001 by the International Council
General in Paris, France. The conference is affiliated with both Trinity Catholic Church located at 6234 Spartan Road,
Nanaimo and St. Peter’s Church located at301 Machleary Street, Nanaimo, B.C.

Our Lady of Guadalupe
The Our Lady of Guadalupe Conference was established in 2001 and later aggregated on January 13th, 2005 by the
International Council General in Paris, France. The conference is affiliated with St. Patrick's Parish located at 34 South
