Dear Fellow Vincentians,
It is with great joy that I invite you to join us here in Victoria to participate in the Annual General Meeting of the B.C. and Yukon Regional Council. After a weekend together you will have a deeper appreciation for the mission of Frederic Ozanam, a broader sense of the Regional community of St. Vincent de Paul and an experience of our island hospitality. We will gather at St. Patrick's Church on 2060 Haultain Street, for a full program under the theme expressed by our international logo "to serve in hope".
Our hosts, the President, Mary Spencer and the Executive of the Victoria Particular Council of the Society, look forward to renewing friendships and meeting new Vincentians attending their first Regional AGM. Everyone is welcome and we hope you will all take this opportunity to deepen your Vincentian spirituality and fraternity.
We begin our weekend on Friday night with a site tour of the Victoria Particular Councils programs. The tour will visit the Frederic Ozanam Centre for people with developmental disabilities, the St. Vincent de Paul Housing for homeless at risk individuals, the downtown thrift store, the Social Concern office and Vinnie's outlet which provide various programs and goods to those in need. We finish off the evening with a welcome reception and light buffet at St. Patrick's Parish.
We will conclude on Saturday with Mass, a catered dinner, guest speaker, Sister Frieda Raab, Sister of St. Ann's, and a special presentation by the Cowichan Tzinquaw Dancers.
